Volleyball Returns Home To Host Methodist Wednesday

RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace will host Methodist in a USA South volleyball match at the Hermann Athletic Center on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Admission is free to the match, which begins at 7 p.m.

This is the Pacers first home match in 11 days. They were 2-1 on the road during that stretch, including a 3-1 victory over Mary Baldwin in a tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The Pacers (6-5 USA South, 13-11 overall) are sixth in the conference standings with eight matches remaining in the regular season. A victory would help solidify their chances of reaching the conference tournament, which begins Nov. 12. The top eight teams in the 10-team league qualify for the USA South Tournament.

Methodist (8-3 USA South, 17-4 overall) is fourth in the league standings. The Pacers had won 15 straight against Monarchs until last season when both teams split the season series.

This is the first of two meetings between the Pacers and Monarchs this season. The second matchup is Nov. 6 in Fayetteville, N.C.
