Women's Soccer Falls To Greensboro 1-0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – William Peace played Greensboro to a standstill until late in game in a 1-0 USA South women's soccer loss at Pride Field on Saturday.

Greensboro scored at the 68-minute mark to pull out the win over the Pacers (1-3-0 USA South, 3-4-2 overall), who attempted only one shot after falling behind. The Pacers took three shots overall compared to 18 for Greensboro, but they hung tough behind a defense led by goalkeeper Kirk Mackenzie, who finished with five saves.

It took the Pride (3-2-0 USA South, 6-8-1 overall), who held an 8-1 corner kick advantage, nearly the entire game to score a goal.

The Pacers are home next Saturday, Oct. 19, against Salem (N.C.) in a USA South Conference tilt. Game time is 7 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park.
