Softball Splits The Day In The Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic

Myrtle Beach, SC -- William Peace University softball split the day in the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic as they fell 11-8 to DeSales University before taking a 12-3 win over Bridgewater State College.

    • Game One: William Peace 8, DeSales 11

KEY POINTS
Game One
  • DeSales would take an early 1-0 lead with a single at the top of the 1st. A single from Adanya Day would tie it 1-1 in the bottom of the inning, and neither team would get back on the board until the bottom of the 4th when a single from Anna Suggs would put the Pacers up 2-1.
  • At the top of the 5th, Desales would hit four singles to take a 6-2 lead, before adding a homerun and several more big hits in the 6th for a dominate 11-2 advantage. 
  • Adanya Day would hit a homerun in the bottom of the 6th for an 11-3 score, with Megan McAnany scoring on an error for an 11-4 score. The Pacers would continue to rally in the bottom of the 7th with a homerun from Lydia Hunt and singles from Day and Suggs, but they would be unable to complete the rally and would fall 11-8.
Game Two
  • At the top of the first, a walk for Rachel Mori would bring in Logan Ayers for a 1-0 lead. A sacrifice fly from Anna Suggs, a double for Kayleigh Griffith-Teemer, and an error would put the Pacers up 5-0.
  • In the 2nd, a double from Suggs would increase the lead to 7-0. Suggs would double again at the top of the 4th, while a single from Griffith-Teemer, a passed ball for Hannah Lynch to run home, a double from Lydia Hunt, and a double for Ayers would give the Pacers a huge 12-0 lead.
  • Bridgewater State would get on the board in the bottom of the 5th to trail 12-3, but the Pacers would hold them off to take the 12-3 win.
PACER TOP PERFORMERS FOR THE FOES
  • Victoria Agnoli and Kayleigh Ferraro both went 2 for 4 for DeSales with 2 RBIs.
NEXT GAME
The Pacers will continue in Myrtle Beach tomorrow, March 9th, with an 11AM matchup against Penn College and a 3PM game against Cedar Crest.
