Men's Lacrosse Opens Regular Season With 20-4 Win Over Bethany

BETHANY, WV – William Peace University men's lacrosse opened the regular season with a big 20-4 win over Bethany.

THE BASICS

KEY POINTS

Brewer Warlick would get the Pacers up 1-0 early in the first period. Goals from Gregory Liebman and Devin Noonan would give WPU a 3-0 lead before the Bison would get on the board to make it 3-1. Liebman and Von Werne would each tally late in the period for a 5-1 lead.
In the 2nd, the Bison would cut the lead to 5-2 before goals from William Murray and Liebman would give the Pacers a 7-2 lead. Another goal from Clay Yingling would cut the score to 7-3, but a goal from Warlick would send the Pacers into halftime with an 8-3 lead.
Warlick, Noonan, and Murray would quickly increase the Pacer lead to 11-3 in the third period. Noona, William English, and Riely Murray would add quick goals late as the Pacers held the Bison to a score of 14-3 heading into the fourth.
Warlick and Patrick Calhoun would score early in the final quarter before a goal from Yingling would put the score at 16-4. Charlie Beam, William Murray, and Liebman would push the lead to 19-4, before a final goal from Noonan would secure a 20-4 win.

Brewer Warlick, Devin Noonan, and Gregory Liebman each tallied 4 goals.
Daniel Ando collected 13 saves for the Pacers.

FOR THE FOES

Clay Yingling tallied 3 goals for the Bison.
