Smiley Earns USA South Player of the Week Honor

RALEIGH, NC – Talented guard Nautica Smiley of William Peace University was named USA South Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday for her stellar play in two home games.

The senior guard averaged a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in addition to 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals for the Pacers, who split two contests last week. She amassed a season-high 22 points to go with five rebounds and three assists in an 84-62 loss to Guilford last Thursday.

Smiley was spectacular for the second straight game on Friday. The Asheville, N.C., native posted a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds in a 75-71 win over Bob Jones. She added six assists and four steals.

She posted impressive numbers while playing the entire 40 minutes in each contest.

For the season, Smiley is sixth in the conference in points per game (13.6) and tied for fourth in assists per game (3.3).
