Hampden-Sydney, ranked sixth in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, will be the Pacers' third nationally-ranked ODAC opponent in nine games. The Pacers visited then 21st-ranked Virginia Wesleyan on Nov. 8 and hosted Guilford on Nov. 29. Guilford was ranked 11th at the time but is currently third in the nation.

The Pacers (4-4 overall) scheduled tough non-conference opponents to prepare for the USA South Conference. Their first league game is Jan. 3 at Methodist.

On Sunday, the Pacers trounced ODAC member Lynchburg 82-57 at home. Beau Bryant led the way with 23 points and 10 rebounds which earned him the USA South Player of the Week honor. Michael Dulin and Timothy Pettiford both scored 16 points with Dulin ripping seven rebounds. Tyler Parton chipped in 11 points and three steals.

Pettiford is the team's scoring leader, averaging 14.3 points per game. Bryant is second in scoring at 13.6 points a clip while leading the Pacers in assists (4.6) and rebounds (7.0) per contest. He is the USA South leader in assists per game.

The Tigers (6-1 overall) are led by Davidson Hubbard, the team's leading scorer (13.3 ppg) and rebounder (8.1 rpg). Ryan Clements averages 11.4 points and 4.4 rebounds, and Adam Brazil averages 5.4 assists.

Tuesday's matchup will be a reunion for Pacers Head Coach Claude Shields and Tigers' assistant coach Bryson Gibson, who played under Shields from 2012-15 and coached under him from 2016-18 at William Peace. Gibson graduated Cum Laude from William Peace in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science.

Even though the Tigers enter the contest nationally-ranked, the Pacers have won the last two meetings between the teams. The series is tied 3-3.
