Hot Shooting Lifts Pacers Over Averett

DANVILLE, VA - The William Peace men's basketball team shot a season-high 56.3 percent in a 78-67 road win over Averett at the E. Stuart James Grant Center on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The win snapped an eight-game losing streak to Averett. The Pacers have won two of their last three contests this season.

The Pacers were torrid in the second half, making 60 percent of their shots (15 of 25) while limiting Averett to 34.4 percent in the second stanza. Their play on both ends of the floor helped the Pacers overcome a 36-32 halftime deficit. They outscored the Cougars 46-31 in the final 20 minutes.

Michael Dulin scored 19 points to spearhead a balanced Pacer attack. Timothy Pettiford and Beau Bryant each added 16 points and Dylan McBride chipped in eight points for the Pacers, who shot a season-best 47.8 percent behind the arc. They were exceptional from the free throw line, hitting 13 of 17 shots for 76.5 percent.
