HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (23-25)
The Pacers would take a big lead in the first set as a kill from Georgia Grace Anderson would put them up 11-4. The Hornets would go on a run to battle back within two points as they trailed 14-12, eventually tying the set 19-19. Anderson would put the Pacers up 21-19, but the Hornets would battle to tie it 22-22 before taking the final three points to win 25-23.
Set Two (25-21)
The second set would be tied 5-5 early before an ace from Vivian Camplin and a few kills from Hannah Collier would put the Pacers up 11-7. The Hornets would battle back to tie it 17-17, but kills from Collier, Landis Limon, and Shelby Cooper would regain a 21-19 lead. Final kills from Cooper, Anderson, and Kelsey Bierbauer would secure the set 25-21 and tie the game 1-1.
Set Three (25-20)
The Hornets would take a 7-4 lead in the third set, though kills from Shelby Cooper would bring the Pacers within one as they trailed 13-12. A service ace from Hannah Ward would tie it 16-16, with kills from Hannah Collier, Keslee Hylton, and Landis Limon bringing the score to 22-18. A final kill from Cooper would end the set 25-20 and put the Pacers up 2-1 in the match.
Set Four (25-16)
The Pacers would dominate the final set, taking a big 11-5 lead with kills from
Mackenzie Russell,
Shelby Cooper, and
Georgia Grace Anderson. Kills from
Landis Limon and
Kelsey Bierbauer would put the Pacers up 17-10, with a few more kills from Bierbauer bringing the score to 23-14, while a final ace from
Hannah Ward would end the set 25-16 and the game 3-1 in favor of the Pacers.
