RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University men's soccer drew with the University of Lynchburg 1-1 in an exciting contest. The Hornets are the defending ODAC champions, as well as having made an NCAA Tournament appearance last season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets would gain much of the early possession in the first half, putting several shots up on 
Tripp Kidd. Zach Whelan would put Lynchburg up 1-0 at 23:45, assisted by Carter Averette. 
Peter Darden would nearly tie the game at 32:41, but keeper Justin Ennis would just get a piece of it to keep the Pacers at bay. Kidd would make another good save near the end of the half, sending the game into halftime in favor of the Hornets with a score of 1-0.
The Pacers would put the pressure on early in the second half. A corner taken by 
Danny Alvarez would be tucked away by 
Donnie Leahy to tie it up 1-1. The Pacers would continue to test the Hornets, with shots from 
Rush Campbell and 
Abdul Qurneh being picked up by Justin Ennis as the game got physical. Both teams would have good chances but the keepers would stay strong as the game would end in a 1-1 draw.
