Pacers Conclude Season In USA South Conference Tournament And Set New Program Record

LAGRANGE, GA – William Peace University baseball concluded their season as they split the day in the USA South Conference Tournament. The Pacers defeated Covenant College 7-6 but fell to #4 LaGrange College 12-6. This marks the most wins in a single season in program history for the Pacers as they finish with 23 wins. The Pacers also picked up their first postseason wins in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE - COVENANT

A double from Cameron Butler at the top of the 2nd would get the Pacers going to score Jake Dacunto and take a 1-0 lead. Cole Robbins would single to center field to score Patrick Rogan and put the Pacers up 2-0. At the top of the 3rd, a single from Cameron Butler would score Dacunto and Brett Kemp for a 4-0 Pacer lead. The Scots would cut the Pacer lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third, but Hunter Ward would single at the top of the 4th to score Logan Barbour and put the Pacers up 5-1. In the bottom of the 4th, the Scots would again cut the Pacer lead to 5-2. At the top of the 7th, a double from Logan Barbour would give the Pacers a 7-2 advantage. The Scots would rally in the bottom of the 7th to bring the score to 7-5, while a run in the bottom of the 9th would put the score at 7-6, but the Pacers would hold them off to win 7-6.

GAME TWO - LAGRANGE
A sacrifice fly from Jake Dacunto would score Logan Barbour at the top of the 1st to put the Pacers up 1-0. At the top of the 3rd, a 3-run homerun to left field from Dacunto would score Brett Kemp and Hunter Ward for a 3-0 lead. Sean Roseborough would drive in Patrick Rogan with a sacrifice bunt to put the Pacers up 5-0. The Panthers would rally in the bottom of the 3rd - coming up with a few big hits, while the Pacers would give up a few walks - to take a 10-5 lead. Jake Dacunto would double at the top of the 4th to cut the LaGrange lead to 10-6, but a homerun in the bottom of the 8th and another single would give the Panthers the 12-6 win over the Pacers.
