Softball Falls In Doubleheader To Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, NC -- William Peace University softball fell to Pfeiffer University in a doubleheader matchup - falling in game one 8-0 and game two 4-1. The Pacers have completed their USA South Conference regular season, and will now await seeding for the USA South Conference tournament as they finish 12-6 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One

The Falcons would shut down the Pacers early, taking a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st on a few singles. A sacrifice fly would put them ahead 4-0 in the bottom of the 3rd as pitcher Ashlyn Kennedy kept the Pacers at bay. The Falcons would add four more runs in the bottom of the 5th to take an 8-0 win over the Pacers.

Game Two
In the bottom of the 1st, a double from the Falcons would put them up 1-0. Anna Suggs would drive in Logan Ayers at the top of the 2nd to tie it 1-1, but Pfeiffer would score on a single in the bottom of the 2nd to lead 2-1. Both teams would battle, with the Falcons adding another run at the bottom of the 5th to lead 3-1. A single in the bottom of the 6th would give them a 4-1 lead, and they would continue to shut down the Pacers to win 4-1.
