RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University split a conference matchup with Methodist University 1-1. The Pacers shut out the Monarchs 9-0 in game one but would fall 15-7 in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One
The Pacers would get on the board in the bottom of the third, with Lauren Conway's double bringing in Dara Orr for a 1-0 lead. A bunt from Logan Ayers would bring in Conway and put the Pacers up 2-0. In the bottom of the 4th, Nadia Pittman would hit a home run over left field for a 3-0 lead. A fielding error would bring in Dara Orr for a 4-0 lead, while Candice Smith's double would bring in Lauren Conway for a 5-0 Pacer lead. Logan Ayers would hit an infield single to score Smith and put the Pacers up 6-0, while a single from Megan McAnany would bring the score to 8-0. Anna Suggs would bring in McAnany, helping to secure the 9-0 Pacer win.

Game Two
The Monarchs would battle back in game two, taking an early 2-0 lead on a few fielding errors at the top of the 2nd. A double and a home run would give them a strong 5-0 lead over the Pacers. At the top of the 3rd, a single from R. Haigler would put the score at 6-0, while a few singles at the top of the 4th would give the Monarchs an 8-0 lead. In the bottom of the 4th, Megan McAnany's double would score Lauren Conway to get the Pacers on the board as they trailed 8-1.

At the top of the 5th, Methodist would take an 11-1 lead in a few big hits. A home run from Lauren Conway in the bottom of the 5th would score Dara Orr and Emily Puckett to put the score at 11-4 as the Pacers battled back. In the bottom of the 6th, a double from Anna Suggs would cut the lead to 11-5, with a single from Nadia Pittman scoring Adanya Day and Anna Suggs for a score of 11-7. However, the Monarchs would put up a big 7th inning, scoring four runs to lead 15-7 and shutting down the Pacers to secure the win.

• Nadia Pittman went 1 for 1 in game one, tallying one RBI on her home run.
• Logan Ayers went 2 for 3 in game one with 2 RBIs.
• Lauren Conway went 3 for 3 in game two with 3 RBIs.
