Baseball Takes Down Greensboro In First Game Of Series

CARY, NC – William Peace University baseball defeated Greensboro College 11-4 in game one of their three game series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride would take an early 2-0 lead at the top of the first, but a homerun from Hunter Ward in the bottom of the inning would tie the game 2-2 as he brought home Cole Thompson. Jake Dacunto would double to left field to score Brett Kemp, while Cameron Butler's single would score Dacunto to bring the score to 4-2. In the bottom of the 3rd, Kevin Gonzalez would double to score Sean Roseborough and Cameron Butler for a 6-2 lead. Cameron Butler would single in the bottom of the 4th, scoring Nick Tyler for a 7-2 advantage. Sean Roseborough's single would drive home Brett Kemp to put the Pacers ahead 8-2.

At the top of the 5th, a fielding error would bring in a run for Greensboro, while a single would cut the Pacer lead to 8-4. Hunter Ward would single to score Cole Thompson for a 9-4 score, while an error would bring in Ward for a 10-4 lead. Another error in the 7th would bring in Nick Tyler, securing an 11-7 win for the Pacers.
