Men's Lacrosse Falls To Falcons In Exciting Conference Opener

CARY, NC - William Peace University men's lacrosse fell in a high-scoring back-and-forth battle with the Pfeiffer Falcons by a score of 17-13.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons would get out to a strong start to lead 3-0 early in the first period. Drew Von Werne would find Nick Falso, who would find the back of the net, to put the Pacers on the board as they trailed 3-1. Pfeiffer would add two more quick goals to lead 5-1, but Falso would score on the man-down, assisted by Devin Noonan, to cut the lead to 5-2. The Falcons would score on the man-up shortly after, before adding another to lead 7-2, but Brewer Warlick would add a late goal, assisted by William Murray, to bring the score to 7-3.

The Pacers would battle in the second period, with Riely Murray cutting the Falcons' lead to 7-4, and Nick Falso adding another for a score of 7-5. Pfeiffer would respond to lead 8-5, but Brewer Warlick and Devin Noonan would each tally a goal to bring the Pacers within one as they trailed 8-7. Pfeiffer would add a late goal on the man-up to lead 9-7 heading into halftime.

In the third, Warlick would chip away at the Falcons' lead with an early goal to bring the score to 9-8, but the Falcons would respond to lead 10-8. Nick Falso would continue his scoring streak to again put the score back within one as they trailed 10-9. Pfeiffer would battle back, adding two goals to lead 12-9, but Nick Falso and Brewer Warlick would each add another to put the score at 12-11. Pfeiffer would add one more to head into the fourth period leading 13-11.

The Falcons would push back in the 4th, tallying 3 quick goals to lead 16-11. Devin Noonan and Nick Falso would each add another goal, but the Pacers would fall 17-13 to the Falcons.
