RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University men's soccer fell 2-1 in a 2OT USA South Championship game to Brevard College. The Pacers finish the season with a 10-4-4 overall record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers would control the early game, with
Josh Rutland scoring just eleven minutes in on a throw-in from
TJ Hurd. Both keepers would make a few good saves in the first half, with the Pacer defense shutting down the Tornados early to send the game into halftime tied 0-0. In the second half, both teams would get a few good chances, but none would connect until the 84th minute when the Tornados would tie it 1-1 late on a goal from Igor da Silva to send it into overtime tied 1-1. In the first overtime,
Danny Alvarez would get a great chance halfway through, but the Brevard keeper would keep the game tied 1-1 as neither team got much going. In the second overtime, Rutland would nearly score again as his shot would hit the woodwork at 103:17. Brevard would score at 108:14 to take a 2-1 late in the game, and they would hold off the Pacers to win 2-1.
