Box Score DANVILLE, KY-- William Peace University men's basketball fell in a close contest to Centre College by a score of 71-65.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The start of the first half would be back-and-forth, with Centre taking an initial 8-4 lead. A shot from behind the arc by Michael Dulin and a layup from Shawn Jones would cut the Colonels lead to 12-10, while another 3-pointer from Dulin and a few shots from the foul line by Donolique Tyrell would put the Pacers ahead 15-12. Dulin would hit another shot from behind the arc for an 18-14 lead, with his fourth consecutive 3-pointer putting the Pacers up 22-16. Centre would make up some ground with a few good stops to tie it 24-24 before taking a 32-26 lead. Timothy Pettiford would add 3 and Shawn Jones would add a layup to cut the lead to 32-31. Pettiford would tie it up 34-34 late, but a last-second layup from the Colonels would send them into halftime leading 36-34.
- Pettiford would tie it up 36-36 early with a layup before the Colonels would go on a run to lead 40-38. Tyler Parton would make two consecutive layups with Pettiford adding his own to put the Pacers up 44-42. Pettiford would add a shot from behind the arc, a layup, and a free throw to put the Pacers ahead 52-45. The Colonels would battle back to take a 53-52 lead. Two jumpers from Beau Bryant would cut the lead to 59-57, with a late dunk from Pettiford putting the Pacers within 2 as they trailed 66-64. The Colonels would hold off the Pacers with a few final free throws to take a 71-65 victory.
