Men's Basketball Drops Contest To MBU

STAUNTON, VA -- William Peace University men's basketball fell to Mary Baldwin University 93-79. The Pacers now move to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The game would be tied early 4-4 before Mary Baldwin would go on a run to lead 10-4. A layup from Dillon Butler would cut the MBU lead to 15-10, with a jumper from Rashod Rouse keeping the Pacers within 6 as they trailed 21-15. A shot from behind the arc by Tyler Parton would cut the MBU lead to 33-23, but they would go on a late run to lead 46-23 heading into halftime.
  • Beau Bryant and Michael Dulin would notch a few early 3-pointers to cut the MBU lead to 55-34. Bryant would add another jumper and shot from behind the arc as the Pacers trailed 58-42. A jumper by Rashod Rouse would stop a Mary Baldwin run as the Pacers trailed 67-44, while a 3-pointer from Donolly Tyrell Jr. would bring the score to 69-55 as the Pacers cut down the MBU lead. The Fighting Squirrels would continue to hold off the Pacers, with a jumper from Beau Bryant and a 3-pointer from Donolly Tyrell Jr. bringing the score to 86-73. Donolly Tyrell Jr. would add one final layup, but the Pacers were unable to cut down the deficit and would fall 93-79 to MBU.
