Pacers Fall To Knights

Raleigh, NC -- William Peace University men's basketball fell to Southern Virginia University 77-60.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights would get out to a strong start as they went up 7-0 on a few turnovers. A 3-pointer from Smith Gupton would cut the Knights' lead to 7-6, while a layup from Beau Bryant would tie the game 12-12. Two layups from Michael Dulin would put the Pacers up 17-14, but the Knights would battle back to take a 23-21 lead. SVU would go on a run to lead 35-25 before putting up a few final shots from behind the arc to lead 43-32 heading into the half.
  • The Pacers would battle back early in the second half with a jumper from Rashod Rouse and a 3-pointer from Malachi Borders as they trailed 48-37. A few free throws would put the Knights ahead 52-40, while a few layups would give them a 62-45 lead. A 3-pointer from Smith Gupton would cut the Knights' lead to 66-53, but SVU would continue to drive to the net to lead 72-55. A few final free throws would secure a 77-60 win for the Knights.
