DANVILLE, VA -- William Peace University women's soccer fell to Averett University by a score of 3-0. The Cougars would score two quick goals in the first half to take control early, with the Pacers unable to recover.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cougars would get on the board early, with Thania Hernandez taking advantage of a breakaway opportunity at 1:59 to put the Cougars up 1-0. At 12:55, Celia de Diego chip one in off a cross from Hernandez to increase Averett's lead to 2-0. Lillian Bates and Raine Greene would both have good opportunities about 30 minutes in, but goalkeeper Morgann Dills would keep the Pacers off the scoresheet. Celia de Diego would find the back of the net again at 44:31 to send the game into halftime with a score of 3-0.

In the second half, Pacer goalkeeper Abigail Mosteller would make several good saves to keep the Cougars from increasing their lead. Rachel Alford would have a chance at 76:27, but Dills would again be strong to keep her from finding the back of the net. Izabelle Dessi and Dayna Kenworthy would challenge Dills near the end of the second half, but Dills would continue to be solid as the Cougars secured a 3-0 win over the Pacers.
