Women's Soccer Defeats Ferrum To Win Second In A Row

CARY, NC -- William Peace University women's soccer would complete their comeback and defeat Ferrum College by a score of 3-1. The Pacers would go down early in the first half but would start their comeback with 10 seconds left in the first half as Bronner Bonner tied the game at 1-1. William Peace would then complete their comeback in the second half with goals from Rachel Alford and Dayna Kenworthy

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers would start the game on the attack, with Raine Greene and Rachel Alford putting several shots up on goalkeeper Abbey Hayes within the first fifteen minutes. Ferrum's Jamie Adams would find a way to the back of the net first, putting the Panthers up 1-0 at 33:21. However, the Pacers would continue to control the game, and a service in by Gabrielle Jones would find Brooke Bonner, who would tally her first collegiate goal to tie the game 1-1 heading into halftime.

In the second half, Rachel Alford would take advantage of some quick momentum, scoring on her own rebound to give the Pacers a 2-1 lead at 46:51. Pacer goalkeeper Makenzie Jones would make a few key saves to keep the Pacers in the lead. Dayna Kenworthy would increase WPU's lead to 3-1, with an assist coming from Raine Greene, at 74:37, which would also secure the 3-1 win for the Pacers.
