Pacers Fall In First Games Of Series To NCWC

Cary, NC -- William Peace University baseball was defeated in a doubleheader against NC Wesleyan College. The Pacers would lose the first game in a shutout as the Bishops would be the only ones to score in a 4-0 loss for the Pacers. In game two, the Pacers would fight hard in the second game, however they would fall short as the Bishops would walk away with an 11-6 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One 
The first two innings would start and end in deadlocks as neither team would be able to get their players back to the home plate. In the third inning, the Bishops would get themselves on the board. Alec Titmus would get through to home plate on an unearned point after advancing to third on a passed ball, making the score 1-0.The next point would not come until the 6th inning where the Bishops would score on a 3 RBI from Tyson Bass. Drifton Padgett, Alec Titmus, and Jackson Murray would all get through on Tyson's hit. This would be the last time either team scored in the first game making the final score 4-0, ending in a Bishop win.

Game Two 
In the first inning, the Bishops would be the only team to score as Nate Hibbs would make it back to home plate. Zach Lyon would get the first point in the second inning coming off of a hit from Drifton Padgett. Nathan Holt would soon respond by scoring for the Pacers to put them into the game, making the score 2-1. In the third through fifth inning, the Pacers would be the only ones to score with one point coming in each inning respectfully. Tyshawn Barrett and Jake Norris would be the two to score, with 2 points coming from Tyshawnn Barrett, making the score 4-2. The Bishops would not sit back however, as they would score 7 points in the top of the 6th inning, with runs coming from Jackson Murray, Alec Titmus, Drifton Padgett, Tyson Bass, Brad Pennington, Jackson Hobbs, and Zach Lyon; making the score 10-4 in favor of the Bishops. The seventh inning would only see the Bishops scoring with one run from Tyson Bass. In the ninth inning, the Pacers would get two runs from Logan Barbour and Jake Norris, however it would not be enough as the Bishops would come away with the victory, with a final score of 11-6.

PACER TOP PERFORMERS
  • Jake Norris went 2 for 3 in game two with 2 RBIs.
  • Sam Peddycord pitched 5 innings in game two, recording 4 strikeouts while allowing 6 runs.
FOR THE FOES
  • Cullen Davis was on the mound for 4 innings, allowing 3 runs while notching 3 strikeouts in game two.
NEXT GAME
The Pacers will host NC Wesleyan College again tomorrow in Cary, NC on April 3rd. First pitch is scheduled for 1PM.
