Men's Lacrosse Falls To Pride

Cary, NC -- William Peace University men's lacrosse fell to Greensboro College 13-9. The Pacers also honored six seniors - Nick Shelton, Finn McGrady, Nick Falso, Matthew Boteler, Garrison Wolford, and Joe Powers-Jeffers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first period, Greensboro would get on the board first with a goal by William Beyer. The Pride would tally two more quick goals to lead 3-0 before a goal by Nick Falso would get the Pacers on the board as they trailed 3-1. The Pride would continue to hold the momentum, scoring two more to lead 5-1. Falso would tally again with three minutes remaining, while Riely Murray would add a goal in the final thirty seconds of the first period as the Pacers trailed 5-3. Scout Philipp would put the Pacers within striking distance as his man-up goal would bring the score to 5-4 at the start of the second. The Pride however would tally three more goals in the second, with Pacers' Nick Falso adding one to send the game into halftime 8-5 in favor of the Pride.

Neither team would get much going in the third period as a defensive battle ensued. Devin Noonan would tally one for the Pacers, but the Pride would add two more to head into the fourth period leading 10-6. The final quarter would be a back-and-forth battle, with each team notching three goals. Devin Noonan, Nick Falso, and Scout Philipp would each score for WPU, but the team was unable to overcome the early deficit, and would fall 13-9 despite good effort.

PACER TOP PERFORMERS FOR THE FOES
  • Chris Stallings notched 15 saves for the Pride.
  • Davis Miller, William Beyer, and Spencer Kontoulas each recorded 3 goals.
NEXT GAME
The Pacers will complete the season on the road on April 24th with a game against Pfeiffer University. First faceoff is set for 1PM.
