Pacers And Falcons Draw In Regular Season Finale

Cary, NC -- The William Peace University men's soccer team tied with Pfeiffer University by a final score of 1-1. The Falcons would take a 1-0 lead late in the second half, with the Pacers tying up the game with just a couple of minutes remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half of the game would prove to be a defensive battle, with the Falcons controlling the possession as they tested Pacer goalkeeper Jacob Smith. Smith would make several key saves to keep the game scoreless, with the Pacers unable to get a good scoring opportunity.

In the second half of the game, Sammy Suazo would get the first good scoring chance for WPU, but Pfeiffer goalkeeper Jovhany Herera would make the save. The Falcons would capitalize on a corner kick service played box post where Nico Soriano was unmarked and whose header would deflect off Jacob Smith to give Pfeiffer the 1-0 lead. At 87:57, the Pacers would capitalize on a corner kick of their own with Jorge Aguliar serving the corner kick right into the six, as Jose Garcia was able to get a foot on it after a huge scramble to tie the game 1-1.

Neither team was able to capitalize again despite two overtime periods, and the game would end tied 1-1.
