  • Records: William Peace (3-5, 2-4), Methodist (4-0-1, 4-0-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Methodist would jump out to an early lead as Laura Harris would make a run down the left wing and beat two Pacer defenders. Harris would then send a cross into the middle of the box where  Madison Brunson would be there to tuck away the first goal of the game in the 4th minute of play.

The Monarchs would double their lead at the 29:35 mark in the first half as they would send a driven cross into the six yard box that would prove trouble for the Pacers as it deflected off a Pacer defender and sneak in front post to give the Monarchs a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

The second half would see the game open up as both teams pushed forward a bit more. The Monarchs would have several shots in the early going but could not widen their lead. The Pacers cut the Monarchs lead in the 76th minute of play as Kyra Delaney's curling free kick from just outside the 18 would force the Monarch's keeper Maggie Hunt to make a save. Hunt would punch out Delaney's free kick but it would fall right to Kayla Johnson who would head home the first goal of the game for the Pacers.

The Monarchs would respond two minutes later as Aiden Sherry would find space outside of the 18 yard box and lace a shot that would sail into the upper right corner to again give the Monarchs a two goal lead with a little over 10 minutes remaining in the game.

The Pacers would continue to push forward in search of a comeback but the Monarch's would hold the Pacers at bay and conserve their 3-1 lead.
