FAYETTEVILLE, NC -- William Peace University women's soccer fell to a tough Methodist University team 1-0. The Monarchs are currently unbeaten in the USA South Conference, but the Pacers put up a great battle in a physical game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first half, the Pacers and Monarchs would battle for possession in a physical contest. Neither could gain much traction, but the Pacers had a few good opportunities as Baylee Womack's shot at 14:42 would go just high. Abigail Mosteller would stand strong in net for the Pacers to keep the Monarchs off the scoreboard, with strong defensive play coming from Jordan Rogers, Jerri Hanson, and D'Aysha Jones to send the game into halftime still scoreless.

The Pacers would have some good early possession in the second half, with Raine Greene's shot at 63:27 challenging goalkeeper Mary Newman. Dayna Kenworthy would have a good chance at 68:47, but Newman would continue to be strong for the Monarchs to keep the Pacers at bay. The Monarchs would get on the board late in the game at 81:35 as Baylor Burch was just able to tuck one away. Despite a great effort from the Pacers, they would fall 1-0 to Methodist.
