Men's Lacrosse Falls to Randolph-Macon in Non-Conference Match-up

The William Peace University men's lacrosse team fell (22-5) to Randolph-Macon College in a non-conference match-up on February 29th, 2019.

THE BASICS:

  • Final score: William Peace , Randolph-Macon College 

  • Records: William Peace (1-3), Randolph-Macon College (5-0)

  • Location: Holly Springs, NC at Ting Park

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon would strike first with 6 goals to put RMC up (6-0). The Pacers would then respond with a goal from Brewer Warlick. Parker Beebe would add another goal for the Pacers later on in the first period. RMC would go up (10-2) to end the first period. Kuleul Moore would tally 3 saves in the first period.

  • The Yellow Jackets continued their offensive push to extend RMC's lead to (12-2). Dalton Albright would score his first goal on the day to put the score at (12-3). Randolph-Macon continued to dominate offensively and extended their lead to (15-3). Brewer Warlick would tally his second goal on the day to end the first half with the Pacers trailing (15-4). 

  • The Pacer defense held the Yellow Jackets to just four goals in the third quarter. Tyler Gambrell tallied two saves in the third quarter. The score at the end of the quarter was (19-4). 

  • The game reamined deadlock at (19-4) as the Pacers and Yellow Jackets were in a defensive battle. Then, Brewer Warlick put one between the pipes to chip at the Yellow Jacket lead. RMC would add three goals late in the fourth quarter to extend their lead. The Pacers could not battle back and would fall to RMC (22-5). 

PACER TOP PERFORMERS

  • Da'Von Knight notched 4 ground balls and 1 caused turnovers to lead the defense for the Pacers.

  • Brewer Warlick contributed 3 goals on the night to lead the Pacer offense.

  • Kuleul Moore tallied 13 saves.

FOR THE FOES

  • Colin Desesa and Andrew Tiffey each scored 4 goals to lead RMC. 

  • Dan Muller went 10 for 11 on the faceoff.

STATS OF THE GAME

  • Randolph-Macon tallied 49 shots in comparison to WPU's 23.

  • Randolph-Macon notched 51 ground balls in comparison to WPU's 32.

NEXT GAME

The Pacers will travel to Greensboro to play Guilford College on March 4th. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 PM at Armfield Athletic Center.
