Pacers Unable To Complete Comeback As They Drop Game Two To Greensboro

Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University baseball team fell (11-8) to Greensboro College.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers came out hot and quickly got on the board with Hunter Wards RBI single to score Tyshawn Barrett (1-0). The Pride would not be able to get on the board in the first inning, and the hot streak would continue in the 2nd for the Pacers as Jake Norris would reach on a shortstop error. Moments later Gavin Wheeler would single down the right base line. Gavin Taylor would also reach on another Pride shortstop error. Logan Barbour's 2 RBI single would bring home Wheeler and Norris. The Pride would score 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd as the Pacers led (3-2).

The Pride would retaliate in the bottom of the 3rd as they got their bats going and scored a momentum-changing 6 runs to lead (8-3). The Pacers would score one run in the 4th from Nate Holt's single to as they trailed (8-4). Greensboro would score again in the bottom of the 4th to increase their lead to (9-4). In the 5th inning the Pacers would score 3 runs - The first coming from Tyshawn Barrett's RBI single to score Logan Barbour as they trailed (9-5). This was followed up by Alec Seaton's RBI single scoring Barrett and Nathan Holt's RBI single as the Pacers trailed (9-7).

Neither team would score again until the 8th inning when Greensboro would bring in 2 runs in across the plate to lead (11-7). In the 9th the Pacers would bring in a run off of Hunter Wards RBI double to right field to score Gavin Wheeler, but the team was unable to gain any more momentum and would fall to Greensboro (11-8).

PACER TOP PERFORMERA
  • Austin Skipper pitched 2.2 innings for the Pacers as he recorded 3 strikeouts and allowed 1 run.
  • Hunter Ward was 4 for 5 at the plate as he added 2 RBIs.
  • Logan Barbour was 2 for 4 at the plate while also tallying 2 RBIs.
FOR THE FOES
  • Jared Cenal was on the mound for 5 innings for the Pride as he tallied 4 strikeouts and allowed 7 runs.
  • Brayden King and Jared Rodriquez each recorded 3 RBIs.
