Pacers Stay Hot With 110-68 Win Over The Knights


THE BASICS:
  • Final score: William Peace 110, Southern Virginia University 68
  • Records: William Peace (5-7), Southern Virginia University (1-14)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Camden Ferguson started off hot by going (2-2) from behind the arc in the beginning of the first half. The Pacers went on a (21-3) scoring run that gave them a comfortable lead 19 point lead (28-9). Tyson Sellers had a monstrous slam dunk that shook the Herm. He also contributed a shot from behind the arc as well to extend the Pacer lead.
  • The Southern Virginia Knights had no response for the Pacer offense. The Pacers out-rebounded the Knights (25-17) in the first half with Mikal Gaylord contributing 7 and Donolly Tyrell Jr. with 5. Toward the end of the first half, Ti'Quan Whitmore knocked down an open shot from behind the arc to maintain the lead. The Pacers ended the half (51-33) over the SVU Knights. 
  • The Pacers continued to push the lead with Beau Bryant hitting a big 3-pointer to put the Pacers up by 25 (62-37). The Knights continued to have no response for the dominant Pacer offense. Jalen Owens got a piece of the offensive action by hitting two shots from behind the arc to put the Pacers up (88-60).
  • The Pacers continued to control the game both offensively and defensively. Beau Bryant and Dashawn Mason both hit shots from beyond the arc to put the Pacers up by 36 (99-63). Ben Maske made back-to-back plays by hitting a 3-pointer and also drawing an and one. The Pacers would go on to win (110-68).

FOR THE FOES
  • Calvin Seamons put up 17 points and 4 rebounds.
  • Jake Fisher tallied 14 points.

STATS OF THE GAME
  • The Pacers shot 50% from behind the arc and 54.7% from the field. SVU shot 30% from behind the arc and 40% from the field.
  • The Pacers out-rebounded the Knights (43-30).

NEXT GAME
The Pacers will travel to Methodist University on January 14th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM in the E. Stuart James Grant Center.
