THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mikayla Ray got the game started with a free throw to give the Pacers the first points of the game. Scoring in the first half was very balanced as both teams would go back-and-forth with scoring. The Bishops would then go onto an 8-point run to extend their lead and get away from the Pacers (9-15). The Bishops would end the first quarter with a lead over the Pacers (12-18).
- In the second quarter, the Pacers got the scoring started once again with a jumper from Eva Holloway (14-18). Chrystal Jerome would soon get the game to a tie score with a jump shot (24-24). From here on the scoring would be very competitive as the team with the lead would change 3 more times. The Pacers would however end the half down 2 points (35-37).Â
- Mikayla Ray would start off the scoring with a nice layup to tie the game at the beginning of the third quarter (37-37). Scoring would be even before the Bishops would try to drive away with a 6-point run (47-39). The Pacers would not let them get away as Khadijah Daniels would tie the game up once again (50-50). The Pacers would end the quarter with the lead going into the final quarter (56-50).
- The Pacers came into the fourth quarter strong as they started off with an 11-2 run against the Bishops to secure a 10-point lead (67-57). The Pacer defense was strong as they kept the Bishops off the score sheet. With 5 minutes left in the game, scoring would go back-and-forth as both teams came to a stalemate. The Pacers eventually came out on top to win (77-71).
PACER TOP PERFORMERS
- Nautica Smiley led the Pacers with 17 points as she shot 6 for 10 from the field.
- Mikayla Ray led the Pacers defensively with 9 rebounds while also adding 12 points.Â
FOR THE FOES
- Cydney Nichols led NCWC with 22 points as she went 8 for 17 from the field.
- Kayrisma Harrison posted 11 rebounds.
STATS OF THE GAME
- The Pacers shot 42.4% from the field compared to the Bishops' 36.8%.
- WPU shot 66.7% from the free throw line to the Bishops '68%.
NEXT GAME
The Pacers will travel to Greensboro College on January 26th. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 PM in Greensboro, NC
