Men's Lacrosse Earns Victory Over Averett Cougars

The Basics
  • Final Score: William Peace 20 Averett 9
  • Records: William Peace 5-8 Averett 1-10

How it Happened:
  • In the opening possession, Brewer Warlick put the Pacers on the board with a goal inside  the crease.
  • Mason Foy would tie the game up just two minutes later but the Pacers would go on a 5-1 run to close the first period, 6-2.
  • To open the second period, Walker Rice would begin a rally for the Pacers, scoring off an assist from Adrian Brown. The Pacers would continue to score three more goals in the span of one minute to surge ahead, 10-2.
  • Averett's Parker Corbett scored back-to-back goals to cut the Pacer run, but that would only slow the Pacers down for a brief moment.
  • Brewer Warlick would score one and Dalton Albright followed with two goals to complete a hat trick to close the first half, 13-4.
  • Dalton Albright continuing his offensive effort opening the second half with a goal within the first 30 seconds of action.
  • Marcus Dowdy would score his first goal of the season following Albright's, and Adrian Brown followed suit shortly after with his first goal of the game.
  • Mason Foy would give the Cougars some life with a goal while nine minutes remained in the third period.
  • Nick Falso jumped on the statistic spread, scoring with seven minutes remaining in the third quarter, with an assist from Walker Rice.
  • Reid Pettit closed the period with his second goal of the 2019 season. The Pacers headed into the fourth quarter leading, 18-6.
  • Tanner Brown began the fourth period with a goal in the first minute.
  • Mason Foy would score back-to-back goals late in the fourth period, along with Rafael Walker for the Cougars.
  • A final goal from Patrick Williams with two minutes remaining would cap off the Pacer win, 20-9.
