Pacers Fall in Conference Match-up to Huntingdon

The Basics:

  • Final Score: William Peace 7 Huntingdon 17

  • Records: William Peace 4-8 (USAS 1-3) Huntingdon 8-6 (USAS 4-0)

  • Location: Montgomery, AL

How it Happened:

  • The Hawks would strike first with a goal in the first five minutes of the game.

  • The Pacers answered right back with a goal of their own just over a minute later from Nick Falso, assisted by Tanner Brown.

  • Led by two goals from Seth Howe the Hawks would score four more times in the first period to put them up 5-1.

  • Seth Howe would be the first to strike again in the second period scoring within  the first minute of the period.

  • Brewer Warlick answered with a goal of his own to cut the lead to 2-6 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the second period.

  • Austen Saucier of the Hawks got his first goal of the game not long after but was answered right back with a goal from the Pacers Anthony Florian. Unfortunately for the Pacers the Hawks led by two goals from Mac Puller would score three more goals in the second period and would head into halftime up 10-3.

  • The Hawks came out strong after halftime scoring two in the first five minutes of the third period and then there would be no scoring until the last two minutes of the period when Brewer Warlick of the Pacers would add one for  the Pacers bringing the score to 4-12.

  • Foul trouble for the Pacers then led to two man up goals for the Hawks. While still in foul trouble Anthony Florian for the Pacers would score a man down goal and would end  the third period down 5-14.

  • Anthony Florian and Tre Galligan of the Pacers would each score a man up goal in the fourth period but it would fall short and not be enough to overcome the Hawks lead and the Pacers would finish with 7 goals to the Hawks 17.

Pacer Top Performers:

For the Foes:

  • Bryce Coates had 3 goals and 2 ground balls.

  • Adrian Harper had 3 goals, 1 assist, 5 ground balls and 1 caused turnover.

  • Seth Howe had 4 goals and 2 ground balls.

Stats of the Game:

  • The Hawks out-shot the Pacers 55-36.

  • The Pacers won 15-28 face offs while the Hawks won 13-28.

  • The Hawks finished with 43 ground balls to the Pacers 29.

The William Peace men's lacrosse team will be back at home on Sunday April 7th, 2019 in a conference matchup versus Averett University. Game time is scheduled for 5pm.
