Men's Lacrosse Fall in Mid-Week Match Up Against Randolph-Macon

The Basics:

  • Final Score: William Peace 4  Randolph-Macon 16

  • Records: William Peace 4-7 Randolph-Macon 7-2

  • Location: Ashland,VA

How it Happened:

  • Randolph-Macon's first goal of the game would come on a man up advantage with under 10 minutes in the first period to give the Yellow Jackets the early lead.

  • Anthony Florian brought the Pacers back level at 1-1 with a nice individual effort.

  • Colin DeSesa would not take long to score his second goal of the game as he gave the Yellow Jackets the lead back at 2-1.

  • Adrian Brown would find the back of the net with under three minute remaining in the first period to tie the game at 2-2. The tie would be short lived as Colin DeSesa found Brandon Smith to put R-MC back in front with time winding down in the first period.

  • The second period would bring an offensive explosion from R-MC as they put up nine goals in the period while holding the Pacers to one goal in the period.

  • Dalton Albright would score the Pacers lone goal in the second period and briefly cut the Yellow Jackets lead to 4 but R-MC would go into Halftime up by a score of 12-3.

  • R-MC would add two more goals in the third period and fourth period respectively to extend the Yellow Jackets' lead.

  • Walker Rice scored the lone goal of the second half for the Pacers in the fourth period but it would not prove to be enough as Randolph Macon had sealed the 16-4 victory over the Pacers.

For the Foes:

  • Andrew Tiffey finished with 2 goals and 2 assists while picking up 6 ground balls.

  • Brendan Markovic also added 2 goals and 2 assists

Stats of the Game:

  • The Yellow Jackets out-shot the Pacers,59-26.

  • R-MC finished with 40 ground balls, to the Pacers' 13.

  • The Pacers went 10 of 19 on clears, while R-MC went 16 of 23.

The William Peace men's lacrosse team will make the trip to Alabama as they square off against Huntingdon College in a USA South Conference showdown on Saturday, March 30,2019. Game time is scheduled for 1:00pm (CST).
