How it Happened:

Game One

• Game one would begin with a pitching dual as both pitchers would throw four scoreless innings.

• It would not be until the top of the fifth when Rowan would get on the board first with a four run inning.

• Cassandra Gerard would reach on a error by the shortstop that would also allow Carly Anderson to score giving Rowan a 1-0 lead.

• Kelly Duffy would follow with an RBI single to extend the lead to 2-0. Morgan Zane would cap off the inning with a 2 RBI, that would score Duffy and Gerard and give Rowan a 4-0 lead.

• Errors would continue to plague the Pacers as Rowan would make 5-0 in the top of the seventh, off a throwing error from the center fielder.

• The Pacers would make it interesting in the bottom of the seventh as Kristen Baily drew a walk and Sara Siwinski  reached on a error. Olivia Oates would then step up and hit a three run homerun to bring the Pacers within two runs.

• The Pacers comeback bid would fall short as Lauren Shannon struck out Emily Puckett for out number three.

Game Two

• The Pacers would struggle at the plate in game number two against NC Wesleyan as they would be held to just one hit.

• The Bishops would have a fast start as they scored three runs in the top of the first.

• There would be no looking back for the Bishops as Shelby Godwin would hold the Pacers at bay in her six shutout innings pitched.

• The Bishops would seal their win with four runs in the top of the sixth to make it 10-0.

Pacer Top Performers:

• Kelsey Durham would pitch all 7 innings in Game one while allowing only two earned runs.

• Olivia Oates would go 1 for 3 at the plate in game one with 3 RBIs

For the Foes: Game 1

• Kelly Duffy would go 2 for 3 with 1 RBI

• Lauren Shannon would earn the win as she pitched all 7 innings while allowing 3 runs

• Morgan Zane went 2 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBIs

For the Foes: Game 2

• Summer Phillips lead the way going 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs

• Shelby Godwin would throw 6 scoreless innings while striking out 8

What's Next?
The Pacers will return to action next weekend as they host two double-headers. Wesleyan College (GA) on Saturday starting at 1:00pm and Piedmont College on Sunday which also has a 1:00pm start. Saturday's game will also serve as the VS. Cancer game and Sunday will be the annual Pink Game.
