Ballen and Springer lead Pacers past NC Wesleyan

The Basics:

  • Final Score: William Peace 81 North Carolina Wesleyan 66

  • Records: William Peace 14-9 USA South 10-5 NC Wesleyan 10-14 USA South 8-7

  • Location: Raleigh, NC -- Hermann Athletic Center

How it Happened:

  • Khadijah Daniels and Mariah Ballen would start the Pacers off with a layup from each to put the Pacers up 4-0.

  • The Bishops would answer right back with a 6-3 run to take a 8 to 6 lead.

  • It would continue to be a quarter of runs as the Pacers would then go on a 10-0 run led by back to back 3-pointers and take the 16-8 lead.

  • It would be back and forth action to start the second quarter as the Bishops would come within two points midway through the second quarter as Nadiya Holley hit two free throws with under five minutes left.

  • The Pacers would again pull away from the Bishops as they would go on a 9-0 run to end the second quarter.

  • In the first three minutes of the third quarter the Pacers would go on another 9-0 run as the Pacers would have their largest lead of the game at 22 points.

  • The Game of runs would continue down the stretch in the third and would carry on into the fourth quarter as the Bishops would use a 15-2  run to bring the score to 57-59.

  • The Pacers would use one last offensive explosion in the fourth quarter as they went on an impressive 22-3 run to put the game away. The Pacers would secure a 81-66 victory.

Pacer Top Performers:

For the Foes:

  • Keorra Taylor finished with a team high 15 points.

  • Weslie Young finished with a team high 9 rebounds.

  • Kayla Johnson had 11 points.

Stats of the Game:

  • The Pacers shot 47.7% to the Bishops 28.8% from the field.

  • The Pacers had 18 second chance points to the Bishops 6.

  • The Pacers would have 46 points in the Paint.

What's Next?

The Pacers will close out USA South conference play on Saturday as they will hit the road and match-up against the Monarchs of Methodist  University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00pm in Fayetteville,NC.
