Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University women's volleyball team are set to compete in round one of the USA South Conference Tournament as the #3 seed in the East. The Pacers finished 23-7 overall and 12-4 in the conference in the regular season. They will take on #6 seed Methodist University on November 5th at 5 p.m. The match will be hosted by #2 seed Meredith College.
The Pacers are led by
Brienna Laskowski and
Mya Parks, who have tallied 334 and 229 kills, respectively.
Bergin Gillespie has contributed 483 digs, averaging 4.69 digs per set.
Brittany Carpenter has an impressive 666 assists as she averaged 6.47 per set. Finally,
Abby Benton has recorded 35 aces, also adding 308 digs.
Nicole Barringer is in her 2nd year as Head Coach and is assisted by
Merica Ivey. Last year they coached the Pacers to the second round of the USA South Conference Tournament where they fell to Piedmont College.
Methodist finished the regular season with a 6-19 overall record and a 5-11 conference record. The Monarchs are led by Megan Andrews who has recorded 259 kills and 244 digs. The Pacers last faced the Monarchs in the Methodist University Tri-Match where they swept the match 3-0.
Brienna Laskowski led the team that day with 13 kills while
Brittany Carpenter had 29 assists.
The game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Meredith College. If the Pacers come out with a win over Methodist, they will then face Meredith at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
