Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University men's basketball team will open their regular season at home on November 10th against Washington and Lee University .
In the 2018-2019, the Pacers and the Generals squared off with Washington and Lee coming out on top by a score of 85-75. William Peace went onto finish 13-13 overall and 9-8 in the USA South Conference. They were eliminated in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament by Methodist University.
The Pacers will return all five starters from last season including
Tyson Sellers led the team last season with 378 points while shooting 43.6% from the field and 39.5% from behind the arch.
Trey Bryant was a force down low for the Pacers in the 18-19 season. Bryant averaged 12.2 points per game 9.7 rebounds. William Peace also returns sharp shooter
Camden Ferguson who averaged 12.1 points per game last year while shooting 40.1% from downtown. Along with the plethora of experience returning the Pacers roster also features 12 new faces that will look to make an impact on the court.
Claude Shields is now entering his 9th season as the Head Men's Basketball coach at William Peace University. Shields is assisted by
John Bunch and
Jamaal Stokes. Bunch is also entering his 9th season as an assistant coach, while this season will mark Stokes' first year with the program.
