Women's Soccer Falls to Methodist after Two Second Half Goals

Fayetteville, NC -- The William Peace University women's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road to the Monarchs of Methodist University. The Pacers now fall to 6-7-1 overall and 2-2 in USA South play.

The Pacers would face an experienced and tested Methodist team. The first half would see great play from both backlines as the two teams would go into the half tied at 0-0. The Monarchs would add two goals in the second half at 59:33 and would then double their lead at 84:20.

In the first half, neither team would have a clear opportunity on goal. Methodist would outshoot the Pacers 8-3 but Kasey Wilkins would only be forced to make two saves in the first half of play. After a scoreless first half the Monarchs would take the lead off of a service from a corner kick as Sierra Swasey would put away a bouncing ball at the back post with a first time finish. The Pacers would continue to battle down the stretch in the second half as they would trail 1-0 until the 84th minute when Salle Jones doubled the Monarchs lead off a rebound and make it 2-0. William Peace would be unable to mount a comeback as the Monarchs held on for a 2-0 win.
