Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University women's volleyball team will head to Greensboro, NC on Saturday, October 12th to compete in the Greensboro College Tri-Match.The Pacers will take on USA South Conference opponents Methodist University at 2 p.m. before facing Greensboro College at 4 p.m.
The Pacers, who are 13-6 overall and 3-3 in the conference, are looking to bounce back after a loss to Meredith College on October 8th. Junior
Brienna Laskowski currently leads the team with 180 kills and 206 points, averaging 3.16 kills per set. Junior
Abby Benton has recorded 21 aces in 44 sets, also contributing 121 kills. Junior
Brittany Carpenter leads the Pacers with 391 assists, averaging 6.31 per set, and junior
Bergin Gillespie has a team-best 284 digs.
WPU last faced the Monarchs on October 27th, 2018 where they came away with a 3-0 victory.
Brienna Laskowski was a big contributor to the Pacer win as she tallied 16 kills. Since 2008, the Pacers have matched-up against the Monarchs 22 times, coming away with 12 wins and 10 losses. The Monarchs are currently 3-11 overall and 2-4 in the conference. Megan Andrews leads the team with 136 kills and 134 digs, while Lili Henry has 256 assists.
The Pacers and the Pride of Greensboro College also last faced each other on October 27th, 2018, with WPU sweeping the Pride 3-0.
Brienna Laskowski again was a huge asset to the Pacers in that game as she contributed 12 kills and 3 aces. The Pride are currently 10-10 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
Hailey Stout leads the team with 149 kills while Olivia Norris has recorded 33 aces. Carly Uhlir has a team-best 201 digs.
Match time is set for 2 p.m. against the Monarchs and 4 p.m. against the Pride in Haynes Gymnasium.
