The Basics:
How it Happened:
-
The Pacers would start the game with a missed layup followed by a turnover which led to the Falcons taking an early 4-0 lead.
-
A hard fight from the Pacers banking on a three pointer from Lanesha Hawkins would tie the game up at 5-5 with 6:37 remaining in the first quarter but more missed shots and turnovers would allow the Falcons to take back the lead and go on an uncontested 7-0 run.
-
Throughout the rest of the first quarter the Pacers would struggle to pick up any momentum and would end the first quarter trailing 11-17.
-
In the fifth minute of the second quarter Mikayla Ray would make two free throws after a jump shot from Khadijah Daniels to cut the lead to two (21-23).
-
The Falcons would then go on a 7-0 run that the Pacers were unable to recover from in the second quarter.
-
In the first three minutes of the third quarter the Pacers and Falcons would go shot for shot with each other.
-
The Pacers would ultimately outshoot the Falcons in the third quarter 20-15 but would still trail by six going into the final quarter of the game.
-
A jump shot and defensive rebound made by Mikayla Ray followed by a layup from Khadijah Daniels would start the Pacers out strong in the final quarter.
-
Poor shooting would continue to plague the Pacers the rest of the game and despite a continued fight from the Pacers they would end up falling short in the end.
