Pacers Fall Short Against Falcons

The Basics:

  • Final Score: William Peace 66 Pfeiffer 82

  • Records: William Peace 12-9 USA South 8-5 Pfeiffer 9-8 USA South 6-7

  • Location: Misenheimer,NC

How it Happened:

  • The Pacers would start the game with a missed layup followed by a turnover which led to the Falcons taking an early 4-0 lead.

  • A hard fight from the Pacers banking on a three pointer from Lanesha Hawkins would tie the game up at 5-5 with 6:37 remaining in the first quarter but more missed shots and turnovers would allow the Falcons to take back the lead and go on an uncontested 7-0 run.

  • Throughout the rest of the first quarter the Pacers would struggle to pick up any momentum and would end the first quarter trailing 11-17.

  • In the fifth minute of the second quarter Mikayla Ray would make two free throws after a jump shot from Khadijah Daniels to cut the lead to two (21-23).

  • The Falcons would then go on a 7-0 run that the Pacers were unable to recover from in the second quarter.

  • In the first three minutes of the third quarter the Pacers and Falcons would go shot for shot with each other.

  • The Pacers would ultimately outshoot the Falcons in the third quarter 20-15 but would still trail by six going into the final quarter of the game.

  • A jump shot and defensive rebound made by Mikayla Ray followed by a layup from Khadijah Daniels would start the Pacers out strong in the final quarter.

  • Poor shooting would continue to plague the Pacers the rest of the game and despite a continued fight from the Pacers they would end up falling short in the end.

For the Foes:

  • Sydni Bickford finished with a game high 23 points.

  • Mya Johnson would add 21 points and 6 rebounds.

Stats of the Game:

  • The Pacers shot 38.7% from the field to the Falcons 56.4%

  • The Falcons outrebounded the Pacers 35-28

  • Both teams had 14 points off of turnovers
