THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Scots would come out on an 20-2 run to start the first half, led by James Mitchell who would contribute 9 points all coming from behind the arch.

• The Pacers would begin to chip away at the Scot's lead in the halfway through the first half. Mikal Gaylord would add 10 points in the first on 4-5 shooting from the field.

• Both the Pacers and the Scots would struggle with turnovers in the first as both teams combined from 18 turnovers.

• Down the stretch in the first half the Pacers come within 9 points after a 3-pointer from Donolly Tyrell Jr. it would be followed by a layup by Jason Dudley to cut the lead to 7 points.

• The Pacers would trail 43-37 at the half thanks to a 3-pointer by Paul Dunlap.

• The Second half would start with the Scots hitting a jumper to extend their lead to 8 points.

• In the closing minutes of the game the Pacers would be within 2 points after Smith Gupton connected from behind the arch followed by a layup from Tyson Sellers.

• It would be a hectic ending to the game as the Pacers would come up with a steal in the final seconds.The Pacers would be unable to produce on the offensive end and turned the ball over. The Scots would seal the win with two free throws late.

PACER TOP PERFORMERS:

• Tyson Sellers scored a game-high 19 points

• Smith Gupton contributed 15 points and  5 rebounds

• Paul Dunlap finished with a team-high 6 rebounds

FOR THE FOES:

• Bailey Spragg scored a team-high 18 points and  a game-high 7 rebounds

• James Mitchell scored 17 points

• Will Crumly contributed 13 points and made 5 rebounds

STATS OF THE GAME:

• The Pacers shot 47.4% from the field to Scots 54.9%
• The Pacers shot 50% from behind the arch on 13-26 shooting
• The Scots would win the rebound battle 31-28

NEXT TIME

• The William Peace University men's basketball team will return home on Wednesday January 16, 2019. The Pacers will tip-off against the Battling Bishops od NC Wesleyan at 5:30pm.
