HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Lions had a strong start, showing dominance on the court with a 12-0 start over the Pacers.

• The Pacers started to make a comeback, scoring back -to-back-to-back 3-pointers and would cut the lead to 3.

• It was a highly contested first half, each team responding to each basket with one of their own. The score at the half would be 32-36 in favor of the Lions.

• The second half looked promising for the Pacers as a layup from Tyson Sellers followed by a 3-pointer from Sam Arnold would give the Pacers the lead at 37-36.

• The Pacers and Lions would trade baskets it would be a close contest with the Lions leading by 3 with under 10 minutes remaining after two free throws from Tre Mclean

• The tide changed in favor of the Lions in the last 8 minutes, as they would go on a 10-3 run to give them 56-46 lead with a little over five minutes remaining. The Pacers would not be able to close the gap as they struggled from the field down the stretch in the second half and the Lions secure a 73-54 win.

PACER TOP PERFORMER

• Camden Ferguson scored a team-high 12 points all from behind the arch.

• Jason Dudley had a team high 7 rebounds.

• Tyson Sellers contributed 11 points to go along with 4 rebounds.

FOR THE FOES:

• Taylor Mills and Jason Quick both scored a game-high 13 points.

• Miles Riley finished with 11 rebounds and 9 points.

• Marquise Lanier scored 11 points.

STATS OF THE GAME:

• The Pacers shot only 27.7% (18-65) , while the Lions scored 46.4% (26-56)

• Both teams shot 28.6%. from behind the arch.

NEXT TIME

• The William Peace University men's basketball team will travel to Lookout Mountain, GA to take on Covenant College on January 12, 2019. The Pacers will tip-off against the Scots at 4:00 p.m.
