West Point, GA-- The William Peace University Baseball team fell in a tight game to the Hawks of Huntingdon College by a score of 5-4 in their second game of the USA South Conference Tournament.
The Pacers would go down 0-2 in the top of third as Will Cosby and Taylor Fought of the Hawks offense, delivered with an RBI double and RBI single, respectively. Huntingdon would extend their lead in the top of the fourth with a three-run inning thanks to an RBI single by Jud Owens. Owens would later score on a throwing error by the shortstop. The Hawk's would add one more run in the top of the fourth off of a sacrifice fly to make the score 5-0.
The Pacers would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth as
Tyler Tilson delivered a two RBI triple to drive in
Michael Sterne and
Christian Dix. Tilson would score on the same play off a throwing error by the shortstop to bring the Pacers within two runs.
Easton Payton would lead off the bottom of the sixth by reaching first after being hit by a pitch. Payton would later advance to third base on a failed pickoff attempt and score on a ground out by
Mikey Anerton making the score 5-4. Neither team would be able to get anything going in the last three innings and the Hawks would hold off the Pacer to win by a score of 5-4 .

The Pacers wrap up their season with an overall record of 17-18 and 9-9 in conference play. The Pacers have now reached the USA South Conference Tournament in back to back years. Alec Allred, Luke Westmoreland, and Trey Hogan all received USA South All-Conference honors at the end of the 2018 season.
