Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University men's basketball team fell in the final game of the season, (88-84) to Greensboro College in a USA South Conference matchup on Saturday evening. The Pacers finish the season with an overall record of (6-19)  and (4-12) in the conference.

The Pacers started the game only trailing the Pride once following tip-off in the first half. The Pacers found a rhythm in the first 20 minutes, as five Pacers were able to connect from the three-point line going 5 of 12 in the first half. Overall, the Pacers shot an impressive 80% from the free throw line in the first half as well.
Tyson Sellers found himself in early foul trouble ending the first half with 3 fouls. The Pacer went into the half leading 43-36.

The second half began in favor of the Pacers. Trey Bryant connected two free throws, followed by a quick layup from Mikal Gaylord, and Maurice Canady's second three pointer of the game within the first minutes of the second half advanced the lead (52-43). A three-pointer from Greensboro's Cornelius Johnson left the Pride trailing by just four points with 14:46 remaining in the second half.  The Pride continue to push back and a three-pointer from Daron Gipson would tie the game for the first time at 54-54 with 12:50 left in the game. The Pride took their first lead of the second half ( 63-65), with 6:37 left in the game. A quick adjustment to the Pride's defense including a full court trap would trouble the Pacers' offsense. Turnovers led to multiple baskets favoring the Pride, and foul trouble for the Pacers. Tyson Sellers and Paul Dunlap both fouled out within one second of each other. The Pride would keep the lead and momentum from that point on. The Pacers kept battling until the final seconds as a three-point basket from Smith Gupton followed by a three point play from Mikal Gaylord with four seconds remaining would bring the Pacers within four (88-84).
