RALEIGH, N.C. -- The WPU men's tennis team kicked off their season on Thursday afternoon taking on the Hornets of Lynchburg College. Despite their efforts, the Pacers fell to Lynchburg with a final score of 8-1.
Pacer newcomer, Dylan Betancourt brought home the solo singles match victory defeating Juan Borga in consecutive sets. Patrick Ralph would kick off his singles series with a victory before falling to Zach Shane in the following two sets, but not before taking the final set to 10 points before the Hornets player was able to secure the victory. Senior, Davis Felts put up a strong fight in his second set of his singles series going head-to-head against Will Nsoesie, but would finish just shy of victory.
"We really enjoyed hosting Coach Chris Johnson and Lynchburg men's tennis. Our guys battled hard across the board. Very proud of freshman,
Dylan Betancourt, picking up number one singles line victory. We're looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow," shared Head Coach,
P.H. Broyhill.
