Women's Soccer Falls to Battling Bishops

ROCKY MOUNT, NC --  The William Peace University women's soccer team fell to the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College with a final score of 2-0.

The Bishops opened the first period firing on offense, taking 14 shots throughout the first 45 minutes. In the 19th minute of action, N.C. Wesleyan would jump to an early 1-0 lead after a goal from Jordan Forbess. The Pacers worked to find possession of the ball following the attack from the Bishops as Jordan Rogers would take the only shot for the Pacers in the first half at the 30 minute mark. The Pacers would head into halftime trailing the Bishops 1-0.

The second half would get off to a physical start as N.C. Wesleyan picked up three quick fouls at the beginning of the half. The Bishops would score quickly in the 51st minute to bring their lead to 2-0. The Bishop defense would limit the Pacers to zero shots in the second half. N.C. Wesleyan would finish with 26 shots throughout the game and would take the conference win, 2-0.
