Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University men's basketball team defeated Berea College 79-60 on January 7th, 2018. The Pacers now improve to an overall record of (3-8) and a conference record of (2-3).
The first half was a close contest, with the Pacers never gaining more than a 6-point advantage over Berea, while Berea never had more than a 2-point lead over the Pacers. Camden Ferguson put up the first points of the half with a shot from behind the arc, while Smith Gupton would send the Pacers into halftime with a 27-24 lead with another 3-point shot. Berea gave the Pacers no free-throw opportunities in the first half, while WPU outrebounded Berea 29-25.
In the second half, Berea tied up the game 30-30 at 17:05, but after that the Pacers would lead for the rest of the game. Tyson Sellers and Camden Ferguson led the team offensively with 15 points each, while the Pacers outrebounded Berea 62-45, with Jason Dudley grabbing 17 and Paul Dunlap tallying 10.Â

WHAT'S NEXT
The Pacers will now head to Fayetteville, NC on Wednesday, January 10th to face Methodist University in a USA South Conference matchup. Methodist is currently (9-2) overall and (4-0) in the conference, having recently defeated Averett University 81-71 on January 6th.
