Volleyball Sweeps Greensboro in Home Opener

Raleigh N.C. -  WPU volleyball team defeated Greensboro College in 3 straight sets Wednesday night. The Hermann Athletic Center was jammed pack with Pacer pride after the home opener tailgate.

Set one began with the Pacers leading most of the match and winning (25-23). The electricity of the crowd kept the Pacers energy up and lead them to win set two (25-21) after trading points back and forth before making an 8-0 run to give them an 18-13 advantage. The final set was back and forth between the Pride and the Pacers with the score tied 24-24 before two back-to-back kills by Mya Parks would secure the win (26-24).

The Pacers had a total of 40 kills for the night and senior, Lindsay Alford, took the lead with 11 kills. Senior, Liana Solomon, had an impressive 33 out of 39 assists to lead the Pacers to victory.

The Pacers are now (3-1) in conference and (6-10) overall. They hit the road this Sunday, October 1st, against Ferrum College and the match begins at 2:00 p.m. The Panthers enter the match (1-10) overall and (0-4) in conference play.
