Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The WPU men's soccer team defeated the Guilford College Quakers in a 1-0 victory, Wednesday evening. The Pacers improve to (5-2-1) on the season.
The Pacers jumped on the board in the 31st minute with a header inside the 18 from senior,
Isaac Kruger. The goal was assisted by senior,
Chris Deleon, crossed from the left side. This goal marked Kruger's fifth goal of the 2017 season. The Pacers would wrap up the first half controlling the offense with 10 shots to the Quakers' five.
Although a quiet second period, the Quakers would take majority of their shots in the final set of 45 minutes. Senior goalie,
Christian Ortiz finished the game with five saves and kept the Quakers off the scoreboard.
The Pacers no look ahead to continue conference play in their next match up against the Panthers of Ferrum College. The game will be played at WakeMed Soccer Park on September 24, at 2:00 p.m. The Ferrum men's soccer team is (5-2) overall and (1-1) in conference play with that conference loss coming from Maryville College.
