RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Pacers will be on the road to kick off their season, as they take on Sweet Briar on Friday, September 1, ar 5:00 PM. Following their game on Friday, the Pacers will hit the road again, this time to Greensboro, NC, to take on Guilford College at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 3.
The Pacer's, who are now under new coaching staff for this regular season, expect to continue to experiment with returning, and new players on the field this weekend to prepare for conference play coming up next month. Key players to watch for in the regular season are
Amber Arnold,
Jessika Schutte, and
Janae Mays. First-year Head Coach,
Mary Puckett had this to say about the upcoming games, "We're excited to get back out on the field. The girls have really bonded over the last week and I'm looking forward to see how we respond to the challenge of starting off on the road with these two games this weekend. I'm expecting big things from the players."
In the 2016 season, the Vixens of Sweet Briar College went 2-15 overall and were 1-6 at their home field. The Pacers are entering the season after a 2-2 draw from their scrimmage against Wake Tech Community College. WPU will be looking to steal two wins on the road to kick off the beginning of their 2017 season.
