RALEIGH -- The William Peace University men's basketball team overpowered LaGrange, 109-86, in the Pacers final game of the regular season. The Pacers' win today puts the Pacers at 15 wins for the year, a school record.
The Pacers came out hot on senior night after honoring seniors
Ryan Emfinger,
Jalen Vince and
Chris Thomas. The team started the game on a 10-0 run and never looked back. The Pacers ended the first half on top of the Panthers, 57-29.
The Pacers sustained their lead over the Panthers for the entire second half and cruised to a win. Thomas finished the game with 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
Willie Herring scored 16 for the Pacers,
Jay Hicks and
Ryan Emfinger each had 14, and
John Burwell and
Camden Ferguson added 13 each.
SCHOOL RECORDS BROKEN
The Pacers 109 points in today's game set a school record for most points in a game.
Ryan Emfinger finished the season with 396 points.
Emfinger finished the season with 138 made field goals.
Emfinger grabbed 175 total rebounds this season.
Chris Thomas ended the year with 116 made free throws.
Thomas finished the year with 146 free throw attempts.
Dakota King finished with 65 offensive rebounds this season.
Jalen Vince dished out 116 assists.
Camden Fergusin made 69 3-pointers this season.
The Pacers scored a total of 2176 points this season, 755 made field goals, while shooting 45.3% from the floor.
William Peace had 397 assists, 68 blocks, and 195 steals.
William Peace finished with 15 wins.

The Pacers will rematch LaGrange in the first round of the USA South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament on Thursday, February 23 at 5 p.m. at Averrett.
